An Introduction to Chiropractic

Family

People come to our office for different reasons.  Some of them have low back pain or neck pain that limits their range of motion so they can't move as easily.  Others come in without having any pain because they want to make sure that their spines and bodies are healthy and strong. This is called wellness care.

There are quite a few women who choose chiropractic while they are pregnant to ensure that their baby has enough room to develop and get into the proper position.  They also want to increase their chance of having an easier delivery.  Still others see a chiropractor to get orthotics, which will support their foot arch and help decrease foot pain, knee pain, hip pain and even low back pain.

Each of these different kinds of patients have one thing in common.  They all need an initial consultation so that Dr. Maya can assess their situation and come up with the best treatment plan for them.

Your First Chiropractic Visit

Your initial examination appointment is about 45 minutes long and consists of a history taking, an examination and your report of findings with Dr. Maya.  At this time of the appointment, you will have the option of having your first chiropractic adjustment. Dr Maya uses a gentle chiropractic method and most people are comfortable having their first chiropractic adjustment right away.

Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time in order to fill out your paperwork.

Subsequent Adjustment Visits are around 15 minutes in length.
Many extended healthcare plans cover chiropractic adjustments.  Please consult with your provider.

Orthotics Initial Consultation

If you require orthotics, your initial examination is about 30 minutes long and consists of a consultation, a foot, arch and ankle examination as well as an analysis of your walking pattern.  A foam cast is used to create the custom made mold for your orthotics, which is then shipped off to the factory to become your pair of orthotics.   A followup appointment is made when your orthotics arrive, in order to ensure comfort and fit.

Many extended healthcare plans cover orthotics.  Please consult with your provider.
